Frequently asked questions

How do I buy?

The buying process is easy. After you’ve found the coin you’d like to buy, click the orange “Add to trolley” button. This will add the coin to your “trolley”. If you would like to pay for your coins, click the small trolley icon near the top right-hand side of the page, and then click “Proceed to checkout”. From here, follow the prompts.

What are your lay-by (or layaway) terms?

I'm pretty flexible when it comes to lay-by. If you can put down a 25% non-refundable deposit, you can pay off the balance in 60 days. If you need a more special arrangement, just let me know. Please note that I cannot offer refunds on coins purchased on lay-by, and if you default on your payments, you will forfeit your deposit; any balance paid will be refunded to you. Lay-by is not available on certain items, such as bullion.

Where do you ship to?

Generally, we ship to all corners of the globe. Parcels sent to high-risk destinations will be dispatched at the customer's risk, and insurance will not be available. Within Australia, registered post is $15 and insurance is available at 2% of the insurable value. International shipping is $75. We use DHL for our international shipping.

How much is postage?

Within Australia, registered post is $15 to anywhere in Australia.

International shipping is $75. We use DHL to ship internationally.

We can combine an unlimited number of orders under one shipment at no extra charge to you.

How much is insurance?

Insurance is charged at 2% of the insurable value, and is only available to Australia, the USA, parts of Europe, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, and Japan. In order to make a claim, you must show that the insured parcel was lost in transit or was undelivered. If Australia Post, DHL, or Fedex confirm that the parcel was delivered or signed for (even if it wasn’t signed for by you), a claim cannot be made. We’re proud to say that since we opened our doors in 2007, out of the thousands of parcels shipped every year, Australia Post has misplaced only one of our items.

What is your refund policy?

Please see our Terms of sale.

Do you have a shop?

No, we are an online business. Traditional coin shops are costly to run and often these costs are passed onto collectors. All business is conducted through email or phone. On occasion, we may visit collectors locally or interstate.

Some coins are marked as ON HOLD. What does this mean?

ON HOLD means that an item has been sold, but has not yet been paid for by the collector who bought it. If the collector defaults on his or her payments, the coin will be available for sale again.

What coins should I buy for an investment?

I neither encourage nor discourage coin investing, but I am not (legally) qualified to give specific investment advice. Best check with your financial planner, or, better yet, do your own research.

I'm from outside of Australia. What exchange rate do you use?

We use the exchange rates from www.xe.com. We can accept AUD, GBP, EUR, JPY, SGD, and USD via bank deposit, but other currencies may be available. Just check with us, and we'll see what we can do.

Do you have fax?

No. If you are unable to email, text, Facebook message, WhatsApp, Skype, Zoom, or call us on the old-fashioned telephone and prefer to use a fax machine, regrettably you won’t be able to get in touch with us.

Do you buy coins?

Yes, I am always buying coins in which I regularly trade. If you have any PCGS-graded sovereigns, half sovereigns, or business-struck Commonwealth coins, email us for an immediate buyback price. If your coin is a PCGS-graded pre-decimal proof coin, we will need to view images of the coin before we can give you a buyback price. If your coin is uncertified or certified by a company other than PCGS, we will need to see the coin in person in order to provide a buyback price.

If you are looking to sell low-grade pennies, please contact one of our competitors. We can provide you with a list of recommended dealers who may be interested in buying these buy the kilo.

Do you discount?

We do discount for established clients. If you’re a new client, please show some form by buying a few things at the list price. After we get to know each other a bit better, we’ll be happy to negotiate on prices. But don't forget: Discounts have to be earned.

How much discount do you give to established clients?

Depends how “established” you are. But let’s face it, there’s not much room to move in quality coins, especially PCGS-graded coins. If you think we can take $50 off a $500 coin, you'll probably have some difficulty buying quality coins from anyone. Realistically, the average discount is between 2 - 4%. But only for established clients.

I have a coin. How much is it worth?

Unfortunately, due to the high volume of requests, we no longer provide free valuations.
