1906 One Fifth Libra

The 1906 one-fifth libra was the first year of issue for Peru's smallest gold denomination. Equivalent to two soles, the coin saw practical circulation, as it was small enough for every day payments. It was struck to the British sovereign standard, being exactly one fifth the weight of a British gold sovereign.
