Although this 1902 proof five pound is only graded PR61 with PCGS, its eye appeal isn’t impaired at all. Like all 1902 proofs, the fields show evidence of die polishing. This is very typical of the issue, and is the reason for the low PCGS grade. Die polishing hairlines aside, the fields are totally original and free from distracting scuffs or bag marks. This coin is fresh in the market and came from an old Sydney collection in which it resided for over twenty years.
